Four – wheel – driver vehicles are the best way to go anywhere in Tibet. Toyota Landcruisers are the most common rental vehicles available in Lhasa. A superior version is the Toyota Landcruiser 4500, which has double-capacity gasoline tanks, giving it a range of perhaps 700km without refueling.. Other 4WD vehicles sighted include the Mitsubishi Pajero and the Beijing Jeep Cherokee. In a Toyota Landcruiser you can squeeze in four passengers plus a guide and driver – that makes three in the front ,three in the back.. If you can afford it, go with only three paying passengers. It is sometimes possible to go with 5 passengers ,like Namtso ,you don’t need a guide. Usually the price is depending on the route, the distance, the itinerary and so on.
