How to pay

After receiving your inquiry, we will work out an ideal tour itinerary and price with full understanding of your requirements (we might have more questions). When it finally meets your satisfaction, it's time for you to book your Tibet trip with us. Here are some easy steps to book a tour with CITS:

1) State in an email to tell us that you accept the tour itinerary and price we provided (together with inclusions and exclusions);

2) Reservations and Payments
a. We suggest you book your Tibet tour at least 45 days before your arrival date, especially for the peak season of August and September. A deposit of $100 per person is required to secure your reservation when you confirm your trip with us. The balance can be paid when you arrive at Chengdu Office. or If you don't come to Chengdu , it should be paid in full no later than 15 days prior to your arrival in Tibet.

b. If the booking is made within 30 days but 15 days prior to your arrival in Lhasa, you are required to pay 50% of the total payment to secure your reservation when you confirm your trip with us. The balance can be paid when you arrive at Chengdu Office. or If you don't come to Chengdu , it should be paid in full no later than 7 days prior to your arrival in Tibet.

c. If the booking is made within 15 days prior to your arrval in Lhasa, you are required to pay in full payment.

3) Alteration, Cancellation and Refunding
Alteration
We provide free service to modify your itinerary two times after you confirm to book your tour. We do provide unlimited alteration to meet your ultimate satisfaction, but from the third time we charge a $20 surcharge for every new modification. Too late alteration might not be workable.

Cancellation
You may cancel your confirmed booking, but this must be in writing. But cancellation occurs after your confirmation to book the tour, or if you fail to pay the full cost of the tour within the specified time, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges. Cancellation charges are as follows:

- If you cancel your tour more than 30 days before the start of your tour with us you forfeit $100 from the deposit you paid. We will refund the rest of the deposit back to you in 30 days. (Other travel agencies require the full deposit.)

- If you cancel your tour within 30 days but more than 7 days before the start of your tour you forfeit 30% of the cost of your tour.

- If you cancel your tour within 7 days of the start of your tour you forfeit 50% of the cost of your tour.

- If you fail to show up at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice, you forfeit 100% of the cost of your tour.

- If you cancel the tour programs due to your own reasons when touring in Tibet, there is no refund of any expense you have already paid. If you want to book some extra programs, you need to pay for the extra cost.

** The effective date of notification regarding cancellation will begin when the notification is received at our premises in writing (email or fax).

Refunding
- If you have paid your deposit but then cancel the tour more than 30 days before the start of your tour, we will refund all the deposit except $100 per person cancellation fee.

4)How to make payment to us?
Thank you for choosing CITS as your tour operator. The best way to send money to us is by wire transfer through a bank.

Pay by Wire Transfer

5) At the time you pay the deposit, we also need some information of every member in order to apply for your PSB or TTB permit:
- full name;
- gender;
- date of birth;
- passport number;
- nationality;
- all exactly the same as on your passport. And you need to tell us your occupation because journalists and people that could be involved in political matters could be revoked (they need more complicated procedure to get a permit). * Please fax or email a clear copy of each member's passport and China visa to us at (86)28-85573500.

6) Once we received your deposit, we will make all the reservations according to your itinerary within one week. We will send you a confirmation letter when all the bookings are secured. At this time all you need is to pack up for your lifetime trip to Tibet!
