Zhanor, deputy director of the Tourism Bureau, said all travelers would be
welcome, and so far most of the scenic spots re-opened to tourists except for
some temples under maintainance.
Tibet focuses on developing both cultural and natural eco-tourism resources
and set up many tourist routes around Lhasa, Nyingchi, Xigaze, Gyangze and
Damxung. Up to now, there are 8 national-level scenic spots and historical
attractions, among which Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka, Tibet museum, Basum Co
Lake, 6 national nature reserves such as Changtang nature reserve, the Yarlung
Zangbo Grand Canyon nature reserve and Serling Lake nature reserve.
Moreover, Tibet's Shoton Festival, Horse-racing Festival, the Yarlung Culture
Festival, and the Mount Qomolangma Cultural Festival are very popular and
attractive all over the country.
