Quake-hit Tibetans in Ganbo Village of the epicenter Li County, Sichuan Province, offered white hada scarves and highland barley to the PLA soldiers, to thank the soldiers' help when devastating quake fell on them.
Deng Changyou, commissar of Chinese Air Force, made out a relief scheme on Ganbo Village, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, on his condolence trip there on May 21.
On May 22, major general Gong Dehong, director of the Politics Department of Chendu Air Force, led a group to Ganbo Village, bringing dozens of tents, quilts, 400 clothes and many other quake relief materials.
When the disaster relief supplies were given, Tibetans offered highland barley and pure hada scarves, which means best wishes and respect, to PLA soldiers, to express their sincere thanks to them.
"We put on the festival costumes and prepared the highland barley, both we dug out from the rubble, when we knew he PLA soldiers will come here to offer us relief supplies. We are looking forward to their arrival," said Wang Pingyan, head of the Ganbo Village. |
